Wedding venues

Castles, country houses and stately homes are among the locations many dream of for their wedding day. Choosing one of our local wedding venues offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy the use of a stunning building. I have selected a few of my favourites where I’ve had the pleasure of taking wedding photographs.

Brobury House, Brobury, Herefordshire

Visiting Brobury House earlier this year took me aback. I hadn’t heard of it as a wedding venue until Georgina and Tom invited me to a pre-wedding consultation. The gardens are simply amazing with so many opportunities for photographs at any time of the year. One of my highlights of 2010!

Lyde Arundel, Hereford

A unique wedding venue in Herefordshire and a hidden gem. Two converted barns cater for weddings of any size and the atmosphere, especially at winter weddings, is so warm and cosy it has to be seen. Karen, the owner and host, is so calm and organized, ensuring weddings run smoothly and efficiently.

Salford Hall, Abbots Salford, Worcestershire

A Tudor manor passionately restored and located close to Stratford upon Avon. The finely decorated interiors with rich textiles and reproduction period furniture provide lots of opportunities to be creative.

Walcot Hall, Lydbury North, Shropshire

Such a stunning venue with Georgian architecture steeped in history. Set in serene and peaceful grounds which overlook a lake and rolling parkland with beautiful gardens. I have the pleasure of photographing Aimee and James’ wedding at Walcot Hall late in 2011.

The Priory Hotel, Priory Lane, Stretton Sugwas, Hereford

This venue works so well for smaller more contemporary weddings. A family run country house hotel, it has an atmosphere about it that many venues overlook. I believe this is due to the inhouse co-ordinator, Chris, who oversees every aspect of the wedding day and keeps everyone organised. The food is fantastic too.

Hogarths Hotel, near Solihull, Warwickshire

A unique venue where you can get married on an island set within 26 acres of woodland! The contemporary décor of the hotel lends itself to some wonderful photographs and the food is brilliantly simple and so tasty.
